As a Kid

September 6, 2010

As A kid,
Colors meant Rainbow, Not Black or Brown,
Wars were History, not the present,
Nature protected us, now we are saving it.
Religion meant a hope, not an election vote,
Justice was to be asked, not fought for,
Friendship was honesty, not means of success.
Education was to empower, not means of jobs,
Honesty was supreme, but lies have pushed them,
Youth was an ocean of hope, but it all seems a waste,
Freedom meant expression, now it hurts those
Who taught us the word.

Only if I could be a kid again,
I would live happily with those false hopes.
